Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has dubbed Sampdoria counterpart Massimo Ferraro a "clown".
Ferrero was pictured with a scarf round his head in last night's 1-1 draw with Napoli.
"Massimo Ferrero is a clown who I have a lot of sympathy for," said Zampa.
"I'm rooting for him a little bit, even if last night I was cheering for Napoli since I bet that Genoa would finish above Sampdoria in the League."
