Zaccheroni resigns as Japan coach

Alberto Zaccheroni has resigned as coach of Japan.

Zaccheroni tendered his resignation this evening after Japan were eliminated from the World Cup.

"I chose the tactical system for the team, so I take responsibility," he said.

The former AC Milan coach is now a candidate to replace Cesare Prandelli for Italy.
