Young: QPR's future can wait until Premiership survival assured

Luke Young is urging QPR to concentrate on remaining in the Premiership before looking too far ahead after a raft of signings on deadline day. Young said: "It's going to look like our second new line up in the space of six months. There's been a lot of players in and out in such a short space of time.

"We're almost rebuilding twice in one season. It's going to take time for players to bed in.

"But we haven't got that long. We need the new boys to bed in straight away. It almost feels like the start of a new season for us.

"It's a 15-game season now, if you look at it that way. We need to make ourselves safe in this league."

Young admitted: "I think the expectations will come once we secure our Premier League status for next season.

"That's when the expectation will rise again for next season, I'm sure there'll be new players coming in again.

"But first and foremost, we can't look that far ahead. We've got ourselves in a bit of a sticky situation in the league. We've thrown away points we shouldn't have.

"We should be pretty comfortable at the moment. We're cut adrift a little bit, we need to suck in a few more teams."

He added: "The target for the rest of the season is to stay up. I think it's important we take something from every game."
