Manchester United winger Ashley Young is facing a fans' backlash over his diving antics.
The Daily Mail says many United fans appear to have made their minds up about Young, with hundreds on Twitter and online forums expressing disgust at a player who has an unfortunate and growing reputation as a cheat.
Young, 28, was criticised yesterday not only for his actions but also for his relatively meagre contribution to United's achievements over the last two-and-a-half years.
United fans did not react this way when Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo were accused of diving early in their Old Trafford careers. Equally, criticism of Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez only tends to come from fans of rival teams.
