Xavi was again left on the bench for Barcelona in victory on Saturday over Athletic Bilbao.
Despite starting and proving instrumental in the victory over Villarreal last time round, Xavi was not used by coach Luis Enrique for the late 2-0 win.
Xavi also was snubbed for the opening day victory over Elche.
