Wrexham fans shared their delight at Sheffield United's Billy Sharp being charged by the FA.

Sharp was critical of Wrexham after his side dumped them out of the FA Cup in a fourth round replay.

However, many interpreted his words at the time as offensive towards Wrexham and excessively critical of the referee.

A statement from the FA read: "Sheffield United's Billy Sharp has been charged following comments that he made in a media interview after their tie in The Fa Cup against Wrexham on Tuesday February 7. It's alleged that his comments constitute improper conduct in that they imply bias and/or attack the integrity of the referee and he has until Tuesday February 21 to respond."

Wrexham fans on social media were pleased.

One fan wrote: "Hahahahahahhaha!! Silly little w*****," with an anchor emoji to round off the comment.

Then another user added: "Deserves it tbh, got rattled by a non-league club."
