Nemanja Matic is ready to leave Manchester United.

The Manchester Evening News says Matic is open to leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window amid a lack of playing time.

Matic, 31, has only started two Premier League games this season and managed just 350 minutes in the first-team. He is out of contract at the end of the campaign and he is concerned about his peripheral role ahead of Serbia's possible participation at the European Championship.

Although United have the option of an additional year on Matic's deal to tie him to the club until 2021, they could let him leave in January in order to obtain a fee and sign a replacement.

Matic has been out for over a month with an unspecified injury and flew to Dubai at the end of October for warm weather training. He was accompanied by his wife, Aleksandra, and three children.
