Woodgate in line for manager's job at Middlesbrough

Jonathan Woodgate is in line for the manager's job at Middlesbrough.

The Sun says Boro will turn to local hero Woodgate to be their next boss — if Tony Pulis quits.

Coach Woodgate, who was doing some scouting for Liverpool, will get the nod if Pulis departs.

Woodgate, 39, is from the Boro area and came back as a conquering hero in his playing days after his time with Leeds and Real Madrid.

With chairman Steve Gibson aiming to work within a tight budget — unless Boro go up through the play-offs — Woodgate would also be a cheap option.
