Jonathan Woodgate has backed Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to buy in January.

Redknapp wants a bigger squad to cope with the demands of four competitions heading into the new year, with a Carling Cup semi-final to look forward to and the resumption of the UEFA Cup.

"We want to play as many games as we can - that means we are being successful," Woodgate said.

"A lot of the lads have played plenty of games already but if we keep winning matches, we'll keep progressing in all competitions."
