Wolves striker Griffiths hoping Hibs keep him in Edinburgh

Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths wants to remain with Hibernian on a permanent basis.

The 22-year old has enjoyed a brilliant season on loan with Hibs, scoring 28 goals on his way to the Scottish Football Writers' Association Player of the Year, the Scottish Player of the Year and PFA Scotland's Young Player award.

He is due back at Wolves this summer but after the Molineux club dropped to England's League One, Griffiths is looking to remain at Easter Road.

"It's a hard one. I'm still with Wolves but I'm hoping to do everything I can to stay up the road with Hibs," he said.

"Obviously that's not up to me. It's down to Hibs and the board and Wolves and I've just got to wait and see. If it happens it happens and if not I'll go back down the road and chance my luck.

"If you'd said to me at the start of the season I'd have won the awards I have I'd have snapped your hand off in about eight pieces.

"It has been a great season and now I want to continue right through these last two games."
