Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is under consideration by England boss Fabio Capello.
The Sun says Ebanks-Blake will be monitored at the start of the new season to see if he is good enough to gatecrash Capello's World Cup plans.
Ebanks-Blake, 23, hit 25 goals last term.
And now England chief Capello wants to know if he can cut it at the top level after Wolves' promotion to the Premier League.
The England boss is not convinced by some of his hitmen, with the likes of Peter Crouch, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Jermain Defoe and Carlton Cole far from definite choices.
Ebanks-Blake may get his chance against Slovenia in September.
