Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards admits he feared for his career during his long-term injury hell.
Edwards scored just three minutes into his long-awaited comeback for Wolves in last month's 5-0 Carling Cup victory over Millwall to banish once and for all fears about his football future.
"Once I was injured, I had doubts over whether I would ever get back," Edwards told the Sunday Mercury.
"I've done A-Levels and always thought about things I'd like to be involved in, but at the same time I never felt ready to think about it properly.
"The injury hit home how much I've relied on football and made me think a little bit more about being ready for when it does end. It's helped in that way.
"I've got a few houses I've bought in Shrewsbury and done up to rent out, but I'd like to do a degree too. I'm not sure about coaching, but sports science has always attracted me."
