Wolves meet Liverpool price for Minamo

Wolves have jumped ahead of Leeds United in the battle for Liverpool attacker Takumi Minamino.

The 27-year-old is due to leave Anfield this summer for around £17 million, and has been linked with a move to Leeds and a reunion with former RB Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch.

Football Insider reports, however, that Wolves are leading the way, making contact with the club to negotiate a deal and with Minamino's representatives to sort a contract.

Wolves face competition from the Whites as well as Fulham and Southampton - where the Japan international spent the second-half of the 2020/2021 season - but have acted swiftly and are willing to meet Liverpool's demands.

Minamino spent time under Leeds boss Marsch in Austria, where 64 goals and 43 assists in 198 games.
