Wolves line up bid for Liverpool midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain

Wolves are lining up a bid for Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Mirror says the Reds' capture of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich is likely to push Oxlade-Chamberlain further down the pecking order at Anfield.

And Wolves hope to take advantage by convincing them there is a deal to be done.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League last season to help his club become champions for the first time in 30 years.

But he struggled to hold down a place in the starting line-up and following Thiago's arrival he will find those kinds of opportunities even harder to come by. Liverpool will want to recoup as much of the £25million they paid to take him from Arsenal in 2017 as possible if they are to sell the 27-year-old.

Wolves have already bought one player from Liverpool to Molineux this transfer window, confirming the £9million signing of Ki-Jana Hoever on Saturday.
