Wolves chief Jez Moxey has assured manager Mick McCarthy he will get far better backing than what he experienced at Sunderland in his previous time in the Premiership.
Moxey said: "I don't believe that in Mick's year in the Premier League he was supported at all.
"Is that something we can do differently? We've already demonstrated that.
"Mick is very much part of what we are trying to do, and has been for the past three years.
"He's rebuilt our team, finished fifth then seventh and then got us promoted as champions. That's remarkable success.
"We've spent good money trying to strengthen so far, and you hope you can do your business correctly. If we need to change things again in January, then if everything is right, we can do that."
McCarthy has already had about £15million to spend on summer recruits, including a club record £6.5m for Reading striker Kevin Doyle, who scored his first Wolves goal last Sunday.
If all goes well there could be another £10m in McCarthy's kitty in January, which will be music to his ears, says the Sunday Mirror.
