Wollscheid's permanent Stoke move opens door for Leicester to sign Huth

Leicester City are a step closer to signing Robert Huth on a permanent basis.

The news that Philipp Wollscheid has signed a three-year deal at Stoke City has alerted the Foxes who are certain to make an offer to Huth who has been on loan from the Potters since early February.

The German centre-back, 30, is out of contract at the Britannia Stadium this summer and is now expected to leave Staffordshire after joining from Middlesbrough back in 2009.

Wollscheid was on loan from Bayer Leverkusen prior to signing with Stoke and his impressive form prompted a less temporary contract.

On the flipside, Huth has been an integral part of Leicester's great escape and Nigel Pearson has made no secret of the impact he has made at the King Power Stadium since his arrival.
