VfL Wolfsburg winger Andre Schurrle admits Jose Mourinho did not want him to leave Chelsea.

Schurrle also revealed Germany coach Joachim Low had an influence in his decision-making.

"I've been a fan of Chelsea since I was a child, and there I was fine until the last day.

"But the most important thing for me was to play football and have fun - and there I could no longer do it.

"Wolfsburg is perhaps a smaller club and I thought about it long before accepting. I could've stayed at Chelsea, Mourinho wanted me to. I consulted the German coach Joachim Low and he said that Wolfsburg would be a great destination for me."
