Former Chelsea wideman Andre Schurrle insists he did not leave Stamford Bridge as a failure. The Germany World Cup winner joined the Blues from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2013, but departed the Blues less than two years later after he moved back to the Bundesliga on a four-and-a-half year deal in February.
"I definitely did not fail at Chelsea," the 24-year-old told German publication Kicker.
"I always had my chance, scored important goals in the first season. At the end I just wanted the transfer, although Jose Mourinho wanted me to stay. But I did not feel the complete backing."
