Manchester City target Kevin De Bruyne has added to the intrigue surround his future at a German football gala dinner on Thursday.

The Wolfsburg star has been linked with a move to City for months, and his comments after receiving the award for best player in the Bundesliga over the last year fuelled speculation he may be on his way out of Germany.

"I'm not one who says that I'm staying here - and in two weeks I'm off," the Belgian international said.

"You have to be a bit open, the more I think that people know how I am I'm just trying to be honest...

"If in the end it happens, you cannot say that I would have lied. That's just football, but I know of course that it is not easy for the fans."
