Wolfsburg hand Bayern Munich first option on Man City target De Bruyne

Kevin de Bruyne has committed to VfL Wolfsburg this coming season - ahead of moving to Bayern Munich in 2016.

De Bruyne has also been linked with Manchester City, PSG and Manchester United, but Kicker says he will play out another 12 months with Wolfsburg before joining Bayern for season 2016/17.

Volkswagen chairman Martin Winterkorn made a personal intervention, urging Bayern to lay off De Bruyne this summer market. VW are Wolfsburg's main financial backers. Winterkorn assured Bayern that Wolfsburg would not sell De Bruyne to a rival and negotiate with Bayern next year.

The two clubs will revisit the issue next summer, with Bayern having priority in negotiations.

De Bruyne has a new contract on the table from Wolfsburg, which includes a €70 million buyout clause.
