Wolfsburg defend outlay for Chelsea winger De Bruyne

Wolfsburg chief Klaus Allofs has defended their move for Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne.

Wolves are breaking the bank to sign the Belgian this week.

"We have shut down other expenses and reduced the squad. Thus, we are able to invest again now," explained Allofs.

But on talk they're paying €22 million for De Bruyne, Allofs added: "No, we do not move at such a level."
