Winks omitted from Spurs squad for Burnley Cup clash

Harry Winks is missing from Tottenham's squad for their Carabao Cup tie at Burnley.

The Daily Mail says the midfielder has not made the trip north for the Carabao Cup clash at Turf Moor to place further doubt on his position within Nuno Espirito Santo's plans.

Winks was a glaring omission from the match-day squad for Sunday's loss at West Ham, the England midfielder not even making the bench.

But his omission from the party to face Sean Dyche's side raises major questions over the academy graduate's future at the club he supporters as a boy.

Winks started in last week's European Conference League clash against Vitesse Arnhem and spoke about his lack of action under Nuno so far.

His non-selection for Tottenham's two games since the defeat in Holland last Thursday may be a reaction from Nuno to Winks' comments.
