Wilshere in top form but can't guide Arsenal to victory

Jack Wilshere feels he is in good individual form following Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year old midfielder was impressive when scoring in the Gunners' four-goal thriller with the reigning Premier League champions at the Emirates Stadium and was rewarded with Man of the Match honours for his performance.

Wilshere's showing against City comes after two notable outings for England over the past week-and-a-half and despite the missed opportunity for his club, feels he has hit some consistent form for both club and country.

"I'm trying to do what I do week in week out, I'm trying to work hard in training and taking those performances out onto the pitch," he said.

"I felt good. I had a good couple of games with the national team I recovered well and felt fresh today. We started brightly and another day we could have won."

Wilshere responded for Arsenal in the 63rd minute when finishing coolly with his right foot to cancel out Sergio Aguero's opener before the Gunners took the lead courtesy of a stunning Alexis Sanchez volley with just over 15 minutes remaining.

However, an unmarked Martin Demichelis headed home Aleksandar Kolarov's corner in the 83rd minute to give City a share of the points in north London.
