Willams backing Jones for success at Southampton

Former Wales captain Ashley Willams is backing Nathan Jones for success at Southampton.

Williams played for Jones at Stoke City.

He recalled: "Nathan Jones is a good manager and he did an incredible job at Luton, twice. He came to Stoke and it didn't quite work out. It was no real fault of his, I think it just didn't work out that season. He's very meticulous in the way that he works.

"He works as hard as any manager I've ever played underneath. I'm hoping he gets to grips with this new role. It's the Premier League, it's very different.

"It's relentless and I think they've brought Nathan Jones in and they've given it to him right now to go and plan and that's what he will do. He knows the style of play that he wants to play. If he's given time, I'm sure he'll be a success."
