Chelsea hero Ray Wilkins doesn't believe the arrival of Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric would improve Andre Villas-Boas' team.
Chelsea are attempting to prise Modric away from Spurs this summer.
Wilkins told talkSPORT: "Luka would be a wonderful additive [sic] to the squad, I don't think he would improve it immensely."
Carlo Ancelotti's former number two believes new boss Andre Villas-Boas should now recruit the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi to make Chelsea Champions League contenders next season:
"To improve the squad and make it Champions League contenders, then Xavi, Iniesta and Messi are the guys that would improve it. At the moment he would add to what is already a great squad."
