Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is looking to secure Arsenal left-back Armand Traore on loan for the rest of the season to add defensive quality.

When at Birmingham, Bruce got Nicklas Bendtner, Sebastian Larsson and Fabrice Muamba on loan - while Arsenal defender Johan Djorou is still in a spell at St Andrew's.

Traore, 18, recently deputised for Gael Clichy at the Emirates and Wenger will now decide whether he needs him as cover or whether the player will benefit from playing for Wigan.
