Wigan Athletic are wrapping up a £7 million deal for Villarreal striker Marco Ruben.

The Mirror says the Premier League Latics have agreed a fee with Villarreal for the striker.

And the South American hitman, 23, is keen on a switch to the Premier League.

The star is in Villarreal's B team in the Spanish second division but has already been capped by his country and scored on his debut.

Ruben joined Villarreal in January 2008 from River Plate for £3.5m but was loaned out to Recreativo Huelva immediately as coach Manuel Pellegrini didn't sanction his signing.
