Wigan land Kone from Levante

Wigan Athletic have reportedly snapped up Arouna Kone in a £2.7million deal from Spanish club Levante.

The 28-year old Ivory Coast striker passed a medical with the Latics on Tuesday afternoon and is believed to have signed a three-year contract.

Kone joined Levante on loan from Sevilla in summer 2011 before making his move to the Valencia club permanent earlier this off-season but has now departed Spain to link up with the Latics as replacement for Hugo Rodallega.

Kone has also played for Hannover 96 (also a loan) as well as Lierse, Roda and PSV Eindhoven during his career.
