Wigan Athletic are eyeing Olympique Marseille defender Gael Givet.

Givet is ready to quit Marseille in January after being frozen out this season and sees his future abroad as his £40,000-a-week l'OM contract prices him out of remaining in France.

Wigan will face competition from FC Moscow and Rubin Kazan should they firm up their interest in Givet.
