Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has ruled out selling Hugo Rodallega this month.
Rodallega, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool.
But Wigan know they could not expect more than £5million for their top striker - less than half what he was worth this time last year.
And Martinez insists they will run down his contract rather than sell him on the cheap. He added: "We are going to leave the contract talks for now.
"In our position we haven't got the money other clubs have got to go out and spend but we don't have to sell if we don't feel it is right for the club.
"It's more important for us to keep Hugo playing for us until the end of the season than try to cash in."
