Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez admits Mauro Boselli is desperate to prove he's no expensive flop.
Martinez isn't ruling out keeping the Argentine, who is back from a loan spell at Genoa.
"Mauro found it difficult at first, because he had a soft tissue injury and he didn't play much football," Martinez explained.
"When he got fit, he scored two goals, but more significantly he became a hero with the locals while he was there.
"The second goal came in the 96th minute against Sampdoria, which actually relegated Sampdoria.
"He probably didn't play as much as we planned, but now he's itching to prove he can still score goals."
