New Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle has warned Premier League clubs off his best players.
James McCarthy is wanted by Tottenham, while Arouna Kone is a target for Roberto Martinez's Everton.
Coyle said: "Nobody has to leave on the cheap. I've been told we don't have to sell. If someone leaves, it will be for the full value - everybody has to understand that, whether it's the buying club, the representatives or the player.
"Do I want to lose James McCarthy and Arouna Kone?
"Of course I don't. But it's possible clubs will come in with offers for some players.
"I had the same at Bolton when we went down. When good players go out of the best league in the world there's always going to be interest.
"If any interest is backed up by hard cash, that's something we'd have to look at."
