The wife of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has hit out at the way he's been treated this season.

Ernesto Valverde no longer counts on the former Sevilla star, that much is clear, and he has hardly played any football after failing to secure a move away from the Camp Nou in the summer.

In the wake of Los Cules' victory over Getafe in LaLiga Santander, SER journalist, Manu Carreno, published a work which gave his own opinion on the situation regarding Rakitic.

"You can't mistreat this player anymore," he declared.

This quote then formed the basis of Raquel Mauri's stunning Instagram outburst on Wednesday evening.

"And yet you don't lower your arms, you're an example of perseverance, wisdom and professionalism," she commented.

"For all this I love you, you are great and there isn't anyone who can change that."
