Stoke City skipper Glenn Whelan says they deserved their point from Newcastle United.
The Potters enjoyed nearly 60 per cent of possession, a new record away from home since winning promotion back in 2008.
Whelan told The Sentinel: "I thought it was deserved considering how we played in the second half, away from home. They had one shot I think and scored from it. After that we were pushing on and they had one or two breakaways but I thought we deserved to get a draw out of the game.
"We are on a good run and it's a tough place to come. Newcastle are our rivals now for trying to push on and we were desperate to get something. If we hadn't got anything we would have been gutted, but it's a good feeling, isn't it, considering."
