David Wheater insists he is ready to sign a new deal at Middlesbrough - but he has not ruled out a move to a bigger club later in his career.
The likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester City have been linked with Wheater, but the powerful defender says he has no intention to leave Boro.
"I don't want to play for anyone else apart from Middlesbrough," said Wheater.
"Obviously there might come a time further down the line where I might want to play for Manchester United, Arsenal or whoever, but this is my hometown club and I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be.
"The manager has shown faith in me and I love playing here."
Middlesbrough are confident Wheater will sign a new deal at the Riverside in the next few weeks to end speculation over his future.
