Westpac and Melbourne Heart partner up

Leading financial institution Westpac has teamed up with new A-League club Melbourne Heart for a three-year agreement.

The Heart today announced that Westpac will be the club's inaugural principal partner which, according to CEO Scott Munn, is a huge step for the fledgling club.

"Westpac is undoubtedly one of the premier brands in corporate Australia, and we are delighted to have the company on board as our principal partner," he said.

"Although Melbourne Heart FC is in its infancy, the club is steadfast in the belief that it bears a distinct responsibility to further the cause of football throughout the state, utilising its resources and coaching expertise to help inspire the next generation of Victorians."

Heart will stage three 'Westpac Community Football Festivals' in June around regional Victoria, taking in Geelong and Gippsland with a third region to be determined - an initiative clearly backed by Westpac state general manager for regional Victoria, Mark Paton.

"Westpac is really excited about this new partnership with Melbourne Heart, particularly the opportunity to take football out to regional Victoria with the Westpac Community Football Festivals."
