Weston McKennie has recalled signing for Juventus two years ago.

The USA midfielder admits it was one of the most exciting days of his life.

He recalled his move from Schalke to Kwik Goal: “Crazy signing for Juve, unbelievable. I was sitting on the couch, at home, in Germany, I was about to leave for pre-season with Schalke and Corey called me saying, there might be real interest and I couldn't believe it.

“I got on the plane to go to Austria where we had the training camp, then I was on the bus after we landed and they said, the coach will call you. But who, (Andrea) Pirlo? I sat with the phone in my hand waiting for the call and just thinking, oh my God!

“We had a rule, no phones at the table. Mine was hidden between my legs and as soon as I saw a call from Italy I ran out. It was Juve telling me, we believe you can be important for our team.

“I just hoped everything would go smoothly. Three or four days later it was all done, I went back to Germany to get my stuff and signed with Juve on my birthday."
