Weeks after winning the Asian Champions League, West Sydney Wanderers have re-signed with NRMA Insurance, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The insurance company, sponsors of the club in its first three years in the Hyundai A-League, will continue to partner the team until the end of the 2017/18 season.
According to Football Federation Australia's (FFA) 2014 financial year accounts, NRMA paid the Wanderers an annual sum of AUS$950,000, (US$805,000) a figure that is now likely to rise to over AUS$1 million (US$850,000) per year.
The Wanderers are set to make more than AUS$3 million per season from playing strip sponsorship with partnerships also in place with Mitsubishi Electric, small goods company Primo and financial services firm Pepper.
As part of the new deal, NRMA plans to spend an additional AUS$3.7 million promoting grassroots soccer in Western Sydney.
Andy Cornish, chief executive of NRMA insurance, said: "It has given us that opportunity to be seen by parents and guardians of children out there in the community in the west of Sydney, which is very important to us.
"We've given away thousands of footballs, backed junior coaching programs. So I think the Wanderers have a strong association with our brand."
