West Ham star Dimitri Payet is delighted at being hailed as a Premier League star.

The 28 year old joined the Hammers from Marseille in summer 2015, and has impressed in midfield with six goals and four assists.

"I don't know if I am classed as a star now, but people have got to know me," the France international told The Sun.

"When I arrived in England I was anonymous. It's nice to be recognised for my football, especially in a competition as strong as the Premier League. People questioned my decision to join West Ham and said it was only for the money.

"But last season at Marseille I think I proved what I was capable of. I am happy to show that I made the correct choice."
