West Ham United confirmed that winter signing Doneil Henry will be sent for surgery this week.
The Canadian centre-back, 21, sustained a hamstring injury while on loan with Championship club Blackburn Rovers and will now have an operation to address the issue which could force him out for the remainder of the season.
"Doneil Henry injured his hamstring during his loan spell with Blackburn Rovers and, after consulting with a specialist, he will have an operation at the end of the week," West Ham's head of medical and sports science, Stijn Vandenbroucke, told the club's official website.
