West Ham manager Moyes insists he wanted to stay in FA Cup

West Ham United manager David Moyes insists he's unhappy to be out of the FA Cup after defeat to West Brom.

Conor Townsend's rasping early strike proved enough to send the Baggies through to the fifth round, although the Championship leaders had enough chances to win by a much bigger margin.

Moyes said, “I'm disappointed we're out of the Cup. I wouldn't say we did all we could, but we tried to do what we could to get through, and unfortunately we weren't good enough on the day.

“Sometimes that can be taken the wrong way. I think we worked hard to try and get into positions but West Brom defended really well.

“We need to get more shots on target and attempt to get more away, but we just couldn't find a way through at times, especially late on in the second half."
