West Ham legend Dicks quits Heybridge Swifts for West Brom

West Ham legend Julian Dicks is moving to West Brom.

The Mirror says Dicks has quit his managerial role at non-League Heybridge Swifts to link up with Slaven Bilic again.

West Ham legend Dicks has left the Isthmian League club to become first team coach under Bilic at West Brom.

The 50-year-old former Birmingham, West Ham and Liverpool defender is being reunited with Bilic, who he previously worked with at the Hammers. He will replace Jimmy Shan and join Dean Racunica and Danilo Butorovic in Bilic's backroom staff at last season's Championship play-offs semi-finalists.

Dicks was appointed Heybridge boss in October 2018 and led the club to victory in the Isthmian North play-offs in May.

Their chairman Gary White said: “While we are disappointed to lose Julian after he did a superb job for our club last season, this opportunity is simply too good for him to miss. It gives him a chance to work again in the Premier League, where he was previously with Slaven at West Ham for two seasons until November 2017."
