West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green says the England squad has been lifted by the inclusion of Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.
The London Evening Standard says it is understood that the results of the latest test are that he will recover in time for the second match against Algeria six days later. Without Barry, England struggled against Mexico and Japan and confirmation of his place in the squad is a boost for England's World Cup hopes.
England and West Ham goalkeeper Green said: "It's tremendous news he is fit. In qualification, he played a big part and everyone is delighted he is fit.
"He is a tremendous holding player in midfield and allows the guys to go on and play the game further forward. There's been a lot of talk about Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard not being able to do that in the middle together but he allows them to go forward."
