West Ham United could face competition for Tottenham winger David Bentley.
The Mirror says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who knocked back attempts by Everton and Manchester City to sign him on loan last summer, is desperate to recoup all of his £15million outlay.
However, Levy has struggled to drum up a deal for in Bentley in the January transfer window as Sunderland, Aston Villa and Everton have all shown an interest, but none of them want to meet Tottenham's price.
The Hammers now have the finance to bankroll a move for Bentley and meet his £50,000-a-week wages.
They have been discussing a fee of £7m, which is not even half what Spurs want, but Levy may be prepared to cross that bridge in the summer.
