West Ham United have sent crocked striker Andy Carroll back to England.
Carroll has returned home to England after he was ruled out for the rest of West Ham's tour in New Zealand following his latest injury setback.
The England striker was withdrawn as a 'precautionary measure' from the squad which lost to Wellington Phoenix in a friendly on Wednesday.
The club-owner David Sullivan's son Jack, tweeted that Carroll had twisted his ankle and had departed the touring party immediately.
He wrote: "Carroll has twisted ankle and has gone back to England for treatment. We will know more in a few days but hope he will be back 4 [sic] Spurs."
