West Ham have reportedly come to an agreement with Fiorentina for a swap involving Savio and Manuel da Costa.

The Hammers are keen to send Savio back to Italy for Portuguese defender da Costa on a loan basis.

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola believes 19-year old Savio has been unable to step up to the demands of English football but has confidence that he still can improve to a suitable standard.

It is likely that the Hammers will be able to send him to the Serie A for the remainder of the season and bring in da Costa to fill a central defensive role.
