West Ham United assistant manager Neil McDonald has confirmed their interest in Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.
Carroll is a loan target for the Hammers.
McDonald told TalkSPORT: "Of course West Ham would be interested in Andy Carroll.
"I very much doubt he will be available as he's a Liverpool player though.
"We're looking to strengthen in all areas and the board are working very hard to bring in some new faces into the squad.
"The manager and the board are working hard behind the scenes. They've already signed Jussi Jaaskelainen and Mohamed Diame.
"It's always two or three weeks into pre-season that you get the next couple of signings. Hopefully their work behind the scenes can be fruitful."
