West Ham captain Noble turns on teammates: We need heart, determination

West Ham captain Mark Noble called for greater passion from teammates after their 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham.

The result extends their record to just two points from a possible 21 from their last seven Premier League matches.

“Listen, if you concede three goals, like we have done in the last few games, it's nearly impossible to win a game in this league, full stop," Noble said.

“With the goals we are conceding, when you make silly mistakes you get punished in this league. You keep on saying it, but it keeps on happening.

“I know it's a cliché, but you've got to dig in and grind a result out because most of the time it isn't pretty football, it's a bit of heart and determination and trying to get a result but, at the minute, it's not happening."

He added: “I know everyone says it, but in the 15 years I've been playing football hasn't changed. You run around, work hard, put your tackles in and win your headers and let the quality take care of itself and at the minute we're not doing it."
