West Ham boss Moyes delighted reaching ECL final - and for Fornals winner

West Ham boss David Moyes is thrilled to have guided the club to the Europa Conference League final.

A 1-0 win at AZ Alkmaar, via Pablo Fornals' late winner, saw West Ham win their semifinal 3-1 on aggregate. They will face Fiorentina in the final after they won at Basel.

Moyes said, "I'm thrilled. It's a huge achievement to get to any final, let alone a European final. It's 47 years since we were last here. We were in a semi-final last year. The bit now is to go and win the final.

"We had an incredible 10 minutes [in the changing rooms]. My staff have done a brilliant job and have had to put up with me nagging and not having much time off but if you want to play in Europe and be successful, the game comes with that."

On Fornals scoring the winner, he added: "Hugely pleasing because he's a huge player. Over the last couple of years he's been instrumental really in how we have finished. He has got goals and ran for the team. He is a real team player.

"I think if there was any player I wanted to score today, it would have been Pablo."
