West Ham boss Curbishley: Defeat tonight ends UEFA Cup hopes

West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley admits defeat tonight against Liverpool will kill off their UEFA Cup hopes.

"I didn't realise our record was so bad at Anfield. Yet I should imagine a lot of clubs have a poor record against them," said Curbs.

"Our ambition is to finish in a UEFA Cup place, though if Liverpool win it might just finish that off.

"I never won as a player at Anfield, yet I did a couple of times when manager of Charlton. We want to finish as high as we can. We are in no man's land in the table and need some results to change that."
